About: Pheasants have a reputation for not being the brightest bird in the world. This male was only a short distance from us at Trentishoe and did not seem to mind us just carried on looking for food.

About: This male pheasant at Trentishoe Down was very lame but that does not seem to have been a draw back for him as he looks fairly fat and full. Bill Oddie on his recent wildlife programme described pheasants as the most coulourful birds in Britain.
