About: When we went to Mill Bay beach we found that it was a dog friendly beach which was a bonus for us as we take the mixed up collie everywhere. We did not see the person fishing catch anything but what a delightful spot to enjoy your sport.

Distant View of the Castle

About: The ruins of Salcombe Castle can be seen from Mill Bay beach. The castle is thought to have been built during the reign of Henry VIII to defend the Kingsbridge estuary against French and Spanish pirates.

Walking Along the Beach

About: The sand at Mill Bay beach is soft and almost powdery but it is fairly easy to walk on and like many others before us we went for a long walk by the river and enjoyed the views across to Salcombe.

About: Mill Bay beach is a privately owned beach which is very popular with families because of the very safe and clean bathing conditions. It is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and at low tide there are rock pools to explore.
