About: It seems fairly obvious why Trentishoe is called the Downs as everything around is on an upward plane. The scenerery in this area is stunning but some of the walks are not for the faint hearted.

About: Pheasants have a reputation for not being the brightest bird in the world. This male was only a short distance from us at Trentishoe and did not seem to mind us just carried on looking for food.

About: Trentishoe itself is a tiny hamlet that is perched high above the very steep sides of Heddon’s Mouth Cleave. Trentishoe Downs are managed by the National Trust and there is a free car park.
