Plate Tectonics
Place: Hartland Quay Category: Geology Size: Wallpaper Size About: Plate tectonics caused the collision of two super continents and Hartland Quay was in the middle. Devon marked the southern margin of a super-continent called Laurasia and this collided with the super-continent of Pangaea to the South. As these two mega-continents collided the rocks at Hartland Quay were buckled and folded which produced the spectacular chevron shaped folds that are exposed in the cliffs today.
