About: The tunnel that leads down at Ness Cove is the only access to the beach and its length and width are a testament to those who tunnelled through the cliff to build it. T he tunnel is romantically linked to smugglers but it is very doubtful that such an impressive structure would have been created for this purpose. Other sources link the construction of the tunnel to Napoleonic times
