About: Meldon Reservoir is not far from Okehampton and it is a good starting point for many rambles or walks across the moors. The dam itself was completed in 1972 and when crossing it visitors can enjoy views of the water spanning the West Okement Valley and Meldon Viaduct can be seen on the north western edge of Dartmoor.
