About: Blackpool Sands beach is signposted from Dartmouth on the A379 and lies between Stoke Fleming and Strete. It is only three miles from Dartmouth and is a fantastic beach at any time of the year. This photograph was taken in December but during the holiday season it is very busy because of all its amenities. There is clean clear water and the beach is cleaned daily in main season when dogs are not permitted The Venus Cafe is open during the holiday season for breakfast, lunch and ice creams also the Venus Beach Shop sells beach clothes, beach paraphernalia and games. Surfski, kayak, boogie boards, wet suit and snorkel hire. For the children there are sand pits and a bathing raft. A Lifeguard is on duty during Summer months.
